What Is Your Weight Loss Motivation?

We live in a world where everyone has an opinion, the problem is that sometimes people say that their opinion is the "truth" or "fact" fact is simply defined as "something that is" In this case, how can anybody say that their opinion is fact?

What does this have to do with weight loss motivation?
Well, people sometimes try and tell us what should motivate us to succeed in any endeavour and if we are motivated by something small or even a bit controversial then this is wrong or not adequate.

In my opinion (not fact) whatever gets you moving towards a weight loss goal is OK if it helps you achieve it.

I lost seventy pounds and the initial motivation could have been perceived as "negative" but it fired me up! I used revenge as a powerful motivator. I don't use this anymore as that would compromise my values but it certainly kept me going in the early days I tell you!

The main issue as I see it with diet, exercise and weigh loss is that it is easy not to do it.
It isn't like breathing or eating which we have to do to stay alive, if you become unmotivated or unhappy, then it will be the first thing to go in a lot of circumstances. This is why motivation of any kind is very important to keeping you going.

In terms of perceived "negative" motivation, I would not recommend becoming bitter or vindictive as this defeats the point.

If you persist in an activity that is intended to get back at someone rather than make you achieve your goals then it can become counter productive but if you keep things internal then it can be a very useful asset.

What can happen as well is that you become a better person by discovering the discipline that sits alongside any weight loss strategy, which then keeps you going as well as the original motivation.

The key point here is not to go out and try and find negative motivation or even start getting back people to achieve your goals.

This doesn't work as it becomes about others rather than yourself, as long as you keep it to yourself and work towards your goals then any motivation is good enough for me!
